Happy Sunday. I have been remiss in updating you all about the plans for Second Story, and I apologize for the late announcement.

Sunday, September 23rd, Second Story changes venues to Senior Duncan at Rivadavia 3832 in Almagro. Host to plenty of fun events and classes, I hope the quiet atmosphere will foster a great night for us. There’s a cheap bar. Ring the bell for entry. The price will be the same: $20 pesos.

This month’s theme is “Women and Men.” So far, no firm word on the lineup — I’ll leave that for next week. For now, I hope that Sunday will prove a good night for this kind of thing and look forward to a good first show in the new venue.

Theme for August 29th: Revelations

Hello out there! The theme for August has finally been decided, and I apologize for the delay. This month: Revelations.

Have you ever had anything revealed to you? Have you had to reveal something to someone else? And did that result in interesting or unexpected conclusions? Or have you been threatened with the end of the world in religious fashion? Have a think and see if you’ve got a story for this month.

The workshop (which is for storytellers only) will be held on Thursday the 16th. Time and place TBA. If you haven’t told a story with us before and want to on the 29th, you are required to attend the workshop. RSVP to me at kate[at]matadornetwork[dot]com for more details as the time approaches.

July’s theme for our show on the 25th is Dangerous Escapades. We’ll be at Absinth Resto Bar (1699 Bartolomé Mitre at Rodriguez Peña) at 9PM. Cover is still $20 pesos.

Next Event: Bad Trip // Date Change: Last Wednesday of the Month

Hey there, all you little pitchers with big ears. Second Story is moving to Wednesday — the last of the month. This month’s theme is Bad Trip and we’ll be doing it at 9PM at Absinth Resto Bar (1699 Bartolomé Mitre at Rodriguez Peña) on June 27th. This date change is permanent (well, as permanent as things get with Second Story).

This month’s workshop is coming late in the month, for you storytellers who would like to participate. We’ll be doing it the evening of Wednesday, June 20. The workshop is mandatory for first time storytellers, and open to any other storytellers who would like to participate this month. If you are not planning on telling a story, disregard the workshop.

This Thursday the 31st is our May event. It’s the last at Sociedad de Comedia in the basement of Absinth Resto Bar at 1699 Bartolomé Mitre). I will update you all soon about our impending venue change. Doors open at 9:30 and the stories start soon after.

Our storytellers for the juicy theme I Stand Accused are Sonya Kunawicz, Rosie Hilder, Rick Powell, Skye Lucking, Daniel Tunnard, Catherine Wright, me (Kate Sedgwick), Ceri Foster, and new storyteller Jordan Rogoff. We will regale you with amusing poems, stories of arrest, delinquency and accusations of statutory rape, among other things.

First, I’d like to thank everyone who braved the cold and made it out last Thursday, and even more, all our storytellers for providing the entertainment.

Next month’s event, same bat time (9:30PM), same bat place (Sociedad de Comedia in the basement of Absinth Resto Bar at 1699 Bartolomé Mitre), will happen on Thursday, the 31st of May.

The workshop is slated for the Thursday the 17th. While details are hazy and may be affected by the plans of those who wish to attend, you can still RSVP to me at kate[at]matadornetwork[dot]com. If you haven’t told a story with us before, the workshop is mandatory. Many regular performers choose to attend as well to get a stronger direction on their stories.
